The Sacred Path of Remembering

Who Were You Before the World Told You Who to Be?

Hello Awakening Soul,

Have you ever asked yourself: Who am I, really?

Not the mother, the achiever, the healer, the strong one.
Not the one everyone depends on.
Not the version of you that keeps the peace, avoids rejection, or holds it all together.

But who were you before the world told you who to be?

This is the sacred path of remembering—not becoming, but unbecoming everything you never chose.

It’s a letting go of all things you thought you were supposed to be, so that you can embrace the truth of who you are.

🔥 You Are Not Your Roles: The Making of the False Self

We live in a world that rewards performance and punishes authenticity. Ego is the identification with form - physical form, thought form, emotional form. It is the self with a small ‘s’. There is nothing wrong with it, we are here to have a human experience which can be both frustrating and confusing. But often, we are TOLD who we are or who we should be and we can identify as these roles that create a false self.

From a young age, we’re handed roles:

  • Be the helper

  • Be the good girl

  • Be successful

  • Don’t be too much

  • Don’t be too loud, emotional, ambitious...

These roles become survival strategies. When we wear them long enough, they start to feel like “us.” But they’re not. They’re masks created to gain love, safety, and belonging.

The false self is a coping mechanism. It’s not who you are.

🧠 Why You Feel Disconnected (and Why It’s Not Your Fault)

If you feel numb, exhausted, or like you’ve lost your spark, you’re not broken.
You’ve just been operating as a version of you designed to be accepted—not to be alive.

Here’s what disconnection might look like:

  • Chronic self-doubt

  • People-pleasing at the expense of your truth

  • Burnout from being everything to everyone

  • Numbness, confusion, or the ache of “there’s got to be more than this”

And the kicker? Most of this isn’t conscious—it’s programmed.
It’s trauma, lineage, conditioning, and expectation, layered over your essence.

🌬️ Remembering Isn’t Adding More—It’s Peeling Back the Lies

You don’t need to find yourself. You’re already there.
Your essence is whole, intact, sovereign. It’s just buried under the noise.

Here’s how you begin the remembering:

Somatic Check-Ins
Ask your body: “Does this feel like me?”
Your body holds the truth long before the mind can make sense of it.

Breathe to Clear the Static
Try the 4-7-8 breath:

  • Inhale 4 counts

  • Hold 7 counts

  • Exhale 8 counts
Repeat x4 and ask, “Who am I when I’m not performing?”

It’s okay if you don’t hear an answer right away. It’s not that you aren’t receiving one, it might just take a little time to understand the answers you’re receiving.

Journal Prompts to Reconnect

  • Who was I before I was told who to be?

  • What parts of me have I silenced to be accepted?

  • What version of me feels the most true?

Be in Spaces That Reflect Your Truth
Surround yourself with souls who speak with you, not at you.
Community accelerates remembering.

⚡ This Isn’t a Vibe—It’s a Rebellion

To remember who you are is to rebel against every system that benefits from your disconnection.
This isn’t lightwork. It’s soul work.
And it’s time.
